He’s Alpha and omega
The beginning and the end
He’s the everlasting father

Darkness has fallen

Darkness has fallen on a windswept hill,
Outside a city that they’re fighting over still.
The men of violence, the man of light,
Cuts a lonely figure in the dark of the night.
Their mouths are open, they don’t understand
Why suddenly this darkness has covered up the land.
Why the whole earth shook because of this man
As the life drained out of His blood-soaked hands.

Jesus lover of my soul
Friend of sinners you made me your own
You gave me hope You brought me life
And on the cross, you paid the price

The water’s deep, but His mouth’s run dry.
The eyes are closing that look up to the sky.
The law is broken it no longer applies,
And all because a criminal dies.
He’s hanging lifeless and far from home,
His mothers with Him but she’s all alone.
It starts raining, the crowd begins to thin.
And no one seems to know the world belongs to Him
